Estonia has announced it’s plans to allow citizens to be able to vote for government elections via their phone by 2011. However, to do so requires the installation of a chip into your phone.

For the second time and onwards this would save you time, but for the first time or if you get a new phone the procedure would be more of a pain in the arse than nipping down to your local primary school on election day and filling out a ballot paper.
